Adrienne Mixon
Adrienne Mixon is an analog collage artist based in Charleston, SC. Her professional journey began while attending Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts. After graduating with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design, she pursued a career in the Fashion Industry as a handbag, footwear and accessories designer for over a decade in New York City.
Now, in pursuit of the artist’s way, her art proposes to explore subconscious material through surreal and nostalgic imagery. The work emerges from recovery of intuition and spiritual inquiry with a focus on transformation, destruction and rebirth. She is drawn to images with conflicting relationships, playful, surreal and absurd combinations. The ongoing pursuit of physical, mental and spiritual integration is documented in the work.
She hopes to guide the viewer to introspection of their own layers of psyche and relationship with the temporal vs. spiritual, as well as their own potential for internal revolution.
